How to choose the tonnage of a hand chain hoist

When selecting the tonnage (i.e., rated load capacity) of a hand-operated chain hoist, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as actual load requirements, safety factor, and working environment. The following are specific selection methods and precautions: Determine the actual load Calculate the load: Clarify the weight that needs to be tightened or lifted (such as the total weight of cables, steel wires, components). For example: If the cable that needs to be tensioned weighs 1 ton, plus additional forces (such as wind loads, frictional resistance, etc.), the total load may reach 1.2 tons. Avoid overloading: The rated tonnage of the hand-operated chain hoist must be greater than the actual maximum load, generally it is recommended to reserve a margin of 20%-30%. In the above example, a model with a capacity of 1.5 tons should be chosen instead of one with a capacity of 1 ton.
